May 14, 2008 8am-4pm
Work alongside Volunteer Mobile employees and AmeriCorps members as you help to revitalize the Exploreum Learning Center next to the Bragg-Mitchell Home at 1906 Spring Hill Avenue. RAPE CRISIS CENTER HOSPITAL ADVOCATE TRAINING: May 16-18: train as advocate for sexual assault victims; after training volunteer is on call to meet victims at hospital after attack

NATIONAL SPRING ADOPTION WEEK: MAY 4: 18 & older volunteers to help MOBILE SPCA, ANIMAL RESCUE FOUNDATION, FRIENDS OF THE MOBILE ANIMAL SHELTER at pet adoption at PetSmart

DOG RIVER CLEARWATER REVIVAL: DOG RIVER CLEANUP: Saturday, June 7th: 8am-noon: volunteers register at Dog River Park (formerly Luscher Park), receive trash bags & litter grabbers; refreshments served

MOBILE MUSEUM OF ART: ART BLAST CAMP AIDES: June 16-August 4th: aides for children’s summer art camps

ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION WALK: May 17th: volunteers to staff event

MOBILE BAYKEEPER SPRING HILL MEDICAL CENTER GRANDMAN TRIATHLON: Saturday, May 31st : 7a.m. at Fairhope Pier: volunteers prior to event for packet preparation & pick up, course set up/take down, day of race traffic monitors

BAY AREA WOMEN’S COALITION: WRAGG SWAMP FESTIVAL: June 12-15, 2008 in Trinity Gardens Community: Workshops on Environmental Issues & Disaster Preparedness; amusement, rides, talent show, gospel show: groups & individuals to staff the event

ALABAMA PRE/POST ADOPTION CONNECTIONS: CAMP APAC: June 16-20 at Camp ASCCA in Jackson Gap, AL: 19 & older counselors to supervise & lead groups of children in canoeing, hiking, archery, ropes courses & other summer camp activities; meals, lodging, transportation provided; interested volunteers must apply by May 15, 2008

ALABAMA COASTAL FOUNDATION: now accepting applications for summer interns with studies in Environmental Science, Elementary & Intermediate Teaching or Computer Science technologies; 20 hours weekly, some weekend or evening work required; must have strong interpersonal, organizational & written skills with backgrounds in elementary education, data collection, research & development & web design; knowledge of gulf coastal environment & current issues

MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION: June 21st: 10am-2pm: training for volunteers interested in wish granting for ill children
