 King Day of Service 2008
Volunteer Mobile and Bay Area Women's Coalition partnered on January 21, 2008 to help our community celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King's legacy and commitment to service. Over 150 volunteers served the Trinity Gardens community. Volunteers created a lovely picnic area at Trinity Lutheran School, complete with 8 picnic tables and landscaping. Others painted the home of a blind, elderly resident. More volunteers planted 46 trees and cleaned up an abandoned field in the neighborhood. Children learned about Dr. King and performed a song about him to volunteers at lunch. Pastor Marshall from Trinity Lutheran Church delivered a sermon on Dr. King and his lasting message of peace and service. The day of service was a success for both volunteers and residents
of the community!
