VOLUNTEER MOBILE

CHOOSE YOUR CAUSE · BE THE CHANGE!

OUR MISSION
Volunteer Mobile strives to mobilize people and resources to deliver
creative solutions to community problems.
OUR HISTORY
Volunteer Mobile, Inc. was established in 1975 by the Junior League of Mobile and the
Community Chest and Council.

Volunteer Mobile is affiliated with
Hands On Network and The Points of Light Foundation and Volunteer Center National Network. We have recently been recognized by the U.S. State Department as an exemplary program in Disaster Volunteer Coordination.

Volunteer Mobile was recently the recipient of the prestigious George Romney Award, presented by the Points of Light Foundation to the Outstanding Volunteer Center in the nation.

Volunteer Mobile’s role in the community is centered on our ability to:

• Connect people with the opportunity to serve

• Build the capacity for effective local volunteering

• Promote volunteering

• Participate in strategic initiatives that mobilize volunteers

Our Recruitment and Referral Program matches volunteers and opportunities based on skills,

interests and availability. Utilizing 1-800 Volunteer, a web-based online volunteer recruitment

program, we maintain a database of more than 500 volunteer opportunities at over 250 agencies in our community. We have more than 6,500 registered volunteers. In addition to online recruitment, we provide one-on-one interviews to find the opportunity that best meets the volunteer’s criteria.
